Wind, swell period and the south-easter. The three numbers we look at the evening before, and why we sometimes cancel a sunny day.

Guests are surprised when we cancel a trip on a clear day. The sun is not the problem. The wind and the swell are.
The three numbers
Wind above 20 knots from the south-east makes the Point unpleasant and the run home miserable. Swell period under 9 seconds means short, steep chop that is hard on stomachs. And a strong south-easter pushes the yellowtail deep and off the bite. Any two of those and we call it by 19:00.
